Pam's Technology Page-
The ideas from our technology PDP has been invaluable for us to use
with students. For weeks, my students have been recording their
at-grade-level readings on an ipod to increase their fluency. The
student's voices have been saved to the computer to share
improvement of their reading with them and their parents.
Our fusion page will help communication with parents. My fifth
grade students are sharing their rating of the Indian Paintbrush
books they have been reading at home on the fusion page.
They will use the internet to vote on their favorite book this week.
Interaction on the smart board will enhance student learning, along
with the website pages we've found and studied. High interest books
will be exciting for students to read and tracking comprehension questions
on the books will be helpful.
Hats off to Marcia and Molly for planning and sharing their ideas with the
staff! This was the most useful and enjoyable PDP ever!!

We set up a page in Wikki, sent messages to members and
typed notes about our experiences. What a wonderful tool to
use with students to motivate their learning!
We also set up our profile page on schoolfusion. We typed our
personal statement, selected a pix, and then had a slide show on
managing the fusion pages, learning about the tools to change our
page.

Explored Wiki sites around the country.
1-28-2011
Demonstrated how to use Wiki free. Set up fusion page, with the spotlight on tools,
setting calendar and background, time schedule, teacher background and philosophy.
2-10-2011
Studied notebook on smartboard. Used Smart Tech to play learning games. Modeling on
how to interact with students. We played an active role learning the applications
on Smart Board.
3-4-2010
Marcia discussed Student digital citizenship and its importance. A handout was provided
with an example of a kid pledge. We were then exposed to the storybird.com site where
artistic work is provided for storytelling. It's a wonderful idea to expand writing with art.
We also tinkered with wordles.com and made a word cloud. This site will be helpful for many
applications of colorful words in the classroom.
Then off to the h.s. for training with MaryEllen from Capstone. The online reading program
will give students a big selection of books to read with their interest choice. The books will
be grouped by lexile ratings after the students take a quiz. The program can be extended for
at-home use now and in the summer.
